Southeast Asian Social Media Coordinator & Retention Mentor
Giving back to the community, especially an underserved one, is one of my key pillars. Southeast Asian Student Association (SASA) helps encourages high school students to pursue higher education and college student retention.
Over the span of 2 years, I had 3 official mentees and a few unofficial ones that I guided through college. I knew I was very resourcesful and wanted to share what I’ve learned with other students. A few of them related to me because I entered the school as an engineering major but soon switched to an undeclared major so I was able to help them navigate that tricky space.
Then after two years of planning and hard work, I switched into an impacted major and continued to give advice to students who also wanted to do the same.
I also designed this graphic using Canva and hosted this coffee hour social where members could come and get to know each other better to form a deeper sense of community within the organization.

I was a panelist at a higher education event where I answered questions the high school student attendees had about our university and how to choose a major.
